Sixers pick (currently 3rd):

  • Knicks won (good): The Knicks won! The Knicks won! Even with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker playing, the Knicks pulled out an overtime win. Thank you, Langston Galloway and Alexey Shved. The Knicks now only have one more win than the Sixers.

Lakers pick (top 5 protected, currently 4th)

  • Orlando lost (good): Orlando fell to Houston, keeping them 4 wins up on the Lakers.

Lottery Odds - Lakers Pick

(Meaning, if the Lakers end up with the 4th worst record, there's a 17.2% chance that the Sixers will get the pick after the lottery).

Heat pick (top 10 protected, currently 15th):

  • Charlotte lost (good): Charlotte lost to the Clippers and stay 1 win behind the Utah/Boston/Indy/Miami group. Charlotte finishing with a worse record than Miami really is the Sixers best hope to get that Miami pick.

Oklahoma City Thunder pick (top 18 protected, currently 14th):

  • Bucks lost (good) / New Orleans won (bad): 1 good, 1 bad = push? Not really. The Bucks are 3 games behind the Thunder at 17th, and unlikely to catch them. With the win, New Orleans jumps into a tie with OKC for that last playoff spot out West.
  • Serge Ibaka is out 4-6 weeks (bad): It was announced yesterday that Serge Ibaka would miss 4-6 weeks due to his knee. That will likely keep him out for the rest of the regular season.

Tonight’s games:

  • Pistons @ Sixers: Sixers are going to need to duplicate their effort in Boston to lose this one.
  • Nets @ Cavs: Go Cavs, keep Brooklyn away from Miami.
  • Blazers @ Miami: Still hoping for Miami wins, as I really want them to get some separation from Charlotte.
  • Wolves @ Raptors: A Wolves win would be clutch here, as it would keep Toronto close to OKC as a fallback to OKC catching the Wizards, and would also obviously help the Sixers positioning at the top. Minnesota has one win less than the Sixers.
  • Indy @ Chicago: An Indy win keeps them ahead of Miami, and also keeps Toronto close to OKC.
  • Orlando @ Dallas: Go Mavs (keep Orlando close to the Lakers).
  • Spurs @ Bucks: Probably doesn’t matter, but go Spurs (keep Milwaukee from passing OKC).
  • Boston @ OKC: OKC win would be huge, as it would push them towards New Orleans and Washington, and also slow Boston down.
  • Clippers @ Sacramento: Unlikely to matter, but a Clippers win keeps Sacramento “only” 5 wins up on the Lakers.
  • Washington @ Utah: I think Utah is a lock to pass Miami regardless of what they do tonight, so I’m probably hoping that they beat Washington to help OKC out.
